Get an overall vibe of the artist' personality. Do you see yourself working with him in the next few months or even longer? Remember, Landscaping Perth artists don't only design landscapes. They also maintain them. So if you're going to choose someone, let him be a person you're comfortable with, someone you have good rapport with. Otherwise, the quality of your project could suffer.

The most important part of interviewing prospective landscape artists is asking for references. If the artist is proud of what he does, he will be proud of giving you some names and phone numbers of his past clients. Once you get a few, call these people and ask them how they found working with the particular artist. Would they probably hire the same guy again when there's a need to? Would they be happy to recommend him to you? These are important questions that can easily give you clues as to whether or not you should seriously consider a certain prospect.

Of course, it's one thing to hear people talk about a landscape artist, and it's another to actually see what he has done. When calling references, ask if you could drop by and see their landscapes.  There is nothing that can speak for his work more than his work itself. Otherwise, at least ask for pictures.
